Grand Rapids police are investigating after a woman says she was sexually assaulted–possibly at gunpoint–on Thursday night.
The 22-year-old victim told police that around 8:30pm Thursday she was walking near Euclid Avenue and Hall Street SE, when a man approached her from behind, grabbed her, and put what she believed to be a gun to her head.
He allegedly threatened to kill her, and took her to a secluded area where he then sexually assaulted her. After the assault, police say he demanded money and left the scene. The woman was able to call police. The suspect is described as a man between 20 and 30 years old, six feet tall, with a thin build and wearing dark clothing.
