WAYLAND, Mich. — A Wayland High School graduate is walking the track at his alma mater to raise money for a school he runs in Uganda.
Ryan Kaminski graduated from Wayland High School in 2007 and now heads up Rising Star Junior School, a school that also functions as an orphanage in Uganda.
Kaminski began walking the track at 8 p.m. Saturday and the event runs through Sunday at 8 p.m.
Rising Star Junior School was founded in February 2012, with 295 students.
After two years, the school has expanded to 370 students with a teaching staff of 16.
