OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Police chased down a car that was speeding and swerving all over the highway early Wednesday morning, and when the chase ended in a crash, the deputies had a different situation on their hands.

The incident unfolded in the westbound lanes of I-96 in Crockery Township.  There was a minivan that was traveling at a high rate of speed, and driving erratically.  When police caught up with it, the driver never stopped, continuing to speed and swerve along the highway.

Several miles later, the driver lost control and went off the road, coming to a stop.  When deputies went up to investigate, they determined that he had suffered some sort of medical condition and called for paramedics.  When additional help arrived, the man was conscious but a little dazed.

He was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
