PORTAGE, Mich. — A teenager only suffered minor injuries on Wednesday morning, after she turned her car in to the path of an oncoming train, resulting in a crash.
It happened at the intersection of Shaver Road and West Melody in Portage at around 7:00 a.m. Police say the train was headed south when it collided with a 16-year-old’s 1997 Buick.
Witnesses said the rail road crossing signals were working properly, and the vehicle still turned in front of the train.
The teenager only suffered minor injuries.
