KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A brief standoff with an armed suspect ended with officers taking the man into custody late Thursday night.
Shortly before 10:00 p.m., police responded to Douglas Avenue for reports of a man with a gun. Witnesses reported the man had a revolver in the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt and was threatening to shoot someone.
Officers set up a perimeter around the apartment-style home, and made contact with the suspect. After 90 minutes of negotiations, the 44-year-old man surrendered. He was taken into custody, and faces a variety of charges.
