PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. —  A truck driver is in the Van Buren County Jail after being pulled over for suspected drunk driving. Police say he had a blood-alcohol level at four and a half times over the legal limit.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, Saturday evening a deputy was dispatched to I-94 to be on the lookout for a semi that was heading eastbound on I-94 that was all over the road. The deputy located the semi just east of the Paw Paw exit and witnessed the semi weaving across the lane.

The semi was stopped and the driver was found to be intoxicated, with open alcohol containers inside the vehicle. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Brampton, Ontario, was arrested.

The semi-driver is being charged with operating while under the influence (OWI) and for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
