BELMONT, Mich. — Blythefield Country Club is ready for its closeup.
The golf course is hosting the Meijer LPGA Classic this week. The first round is set to tee off on Thursday.
Over the last month, Blythefield Country Club has been prepped for the first LPGA tournament in Michigan since 2000. Grandstands have been put in place. Hospitality tents have been pitched. The course layout has even been reversed with the front nine serving as the back nine of this tournament, though Holes No. 9 and No. 18 will remain as they usually are.
The tournament preparation has truly been a community event. So much so, that tournament organizers had to actually turn away volunteers because they had so many.
