GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police have ticketed a teenage driver who they say hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and crashed into a Burger King.
The accident happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the restaurant located on 44th Street in Georgetown Township.
Deputies in Ottawa County say Serena Chandler, 18, accidentally hit the gas pedal when pulling into the parking lot. She and her passenger were not injured.
MLive reports the driver was on a learner’s permit.
Chandler was ticketed for careless driving. The restaurant sustained only minor damage.
