Hazardous day Wednesday on Lake Michigan

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gusty winds from the south created high waves on Lake Michigan Tuesday, such that there were a couple of water rescues. Those winds will shift and be from the north Wednesday, also creating hazardous beach conditions.

There is a high risk of structural currents and longshore currents, with a risk of rip currents as well. Waves are expected to be four to six feet. A small craft advisory is in effect.

In other words, stay out of the water Wednesday.
