WEST MICHIGAN — (July 22, 2014) Hot and humid conditions return to West Michigan Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will warm throughout the afternoon into the upper 80’s and 90 in many areas. These hot temperatures combined with an approaching cold front will bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms to develop in late afternoon and early evening.
Scattered storms are likely to form just ahead of the cold front as it makes its way into West Michigan during the early evening hours however there is a possibility for isolated cells to develop in the early afternoon as well.
Storms that develop and move into West Michigan Tuesday will likely contain gusty winds, cloud to ground lightning and small hail. The main threat out of any storms that develop Tuesday will be the potential for damaging winds.
While tornadoes are not expected, as we’ve seen already this summer brief spin-ups are always an isolated possibility. Stay tuned to FOX17 for updates throughout the day.
