WEST MICHIGAN — (July 13, 2014) Storms blew through West Michigan overnight bringing frequent cloud to ground lightning, gusty winds and torrential rain.
The storm that moved through Ottawa, Kent and Ionia counties dropped significant rainfall amounts between 1 and 4 inches in just a few hours. Winds were also gusty within that same storm. Multiple wind gusts were recorded in Kent, Ottawa, Allegan and Ionia county in excess of 40 miles per hour.
