Volunteers Lend A Hand For Tornado Damage Clean Up

Posted

KENTWOOD, Mich. — Volunteers from Amway and Gordon Food Services helped clean up debris at homes in Kentwood neighborhood on Poinsettia Avenue.

“It’s unreal. It’s like someone dropped a bomb,” Gene Raab, a resident said of the damage.

Raab, 84, has lived at his home since 1959. In fact, he said he built it from the ground up.

Two of his neighbors work for those companies. He said cutting the trees by himself “would take forever.”

Raab expressed gratitude, “I don’t know how to thank these people enough. I hope some time I have the opportunity to return a favor to them. It’ll ease my guilt feelings.”
