Tigers-Royals game on Saturday will be broadcast on tape-delay

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Tigers fans won’t be able to watch their favorite team on live television Saturday night.

The Tigers game in Kansas City is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. on Saturday night. However, FOX has an exclusive television window for all Major League Baseball games from 7:00-10:00 p.m on Saturday. That means no games can be broadcast during that time on any other network other than FOX, including the Fox regional networks. FOX is not scheduled to broadcast the Tigers-Royals game on Saturday.

Most teams move their game times to an earlier time slot to avoid being blacked out when they are not on the FOX schedule Saturday nights. The Kansas City Royals refused to move their game from a 7:10 p.m ET start. Therefore, Fox Sports Detroit will not be able to begin showing the Tigers-Royals game until soon after 10:00 p.m.  The game will not be televised at all in Kansas City.

The game can be heard live on the Tigers’ radio network.
