GREENVILLE, Mich. — A second hazardous materials situation developed in West Michigan on Friday, this time at Metron of Greenville.
At 5:50 p.m. Friday, both the Greenville Department of Public Safety and emergency workers from nearby Belding in Ionia County responded to a report of a HAZMAT situation at the nursing home, located on Greenville’s eastern edge at 828 E. Washington St., which is also M-57 and the main east-west route through the city.
The incident involved a minor leak in a tank of liquid oxygen.
The Greenville incident followed a larger HAZMAT situation about two hours earlier involving chlorine exposure at the Michigan’s Adventure amusement park in Muskegon County.
