MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (July 1, 2014) — Aerial and water-based crews from the Coast Guard helped local departments recover the body of a missing kayaker from Muskegon Lake late Tuesday night.
A Coast Guard spokesperson tells FOX 17 that they had been searching for a man in his 50s who went kayaking around noon and hadn’t been heard from since.
He was reported missing at about 9:30 p.m. by his brother. An assistant fire chief confirmed that the victim was found dead on the south side of the lake with assistance from the Coast Guard.
