COLFAX TOWNSHIP, Mich. (July 1, 2014) — A 54-year-old Big Rapids man was killed Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Colfax Township.
According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department, David Doxtader was traveling north on 160th Avenue at a very high rate of speed. He did not stop at a stop sign at McKinley Road, crossed the intersection and struck a large tree.
His vehicle caught on fire during the accident and the tree was uprooted. Deputies were called to the scene at roughly 9:36 a.m.
No one else was injured in this crash.
