WAYLAND, Mich. (June 28, 2014)- Funeral arrangements have been set for a 21-year-old mother who was killed this past week at a home in Wayland.

Visitation for Kassandra Keyzer is set for Monday, June 30th from 4-7 p.m. at the Wayland-Union School Fine Arts Center according to Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services.

A service celebrating Kassandra’s life will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Church of Wayland.

Kassandra Keyzer had a 3-year-old son and was engaged to be married in July.  Her former classmates gathered at Wayland High School on Thursday evening to remember their friend. “I can’t fathom it still. It’s still not real, like there’s still no explanation as to why,” said Alexandra Hogentyk.

Kassandra was a student at Aquinas College. Friends said that her fiance is the perfect role model for her son.

Michigan State Police said that Kassandra’s  cousin, Joshua Keyzer, 15, killed her and slit the throat of his grandmother, Sharon Keyzer. Sharon had already been battling cancer at the time of the attack. She’s recovering in the hospital. Joshua Keyzer went before a judge on Thursday and was charged as an adult for murdering Kassandra and attempting to murder his grandmother.

Donations can be made in honor of Kassandra to United Bank for a college fund for Reese Keyzer
