GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 14, 2014)- Over 400 bicycle helmets were given away Saturday morning at the Lids for Kids event at Garfield Park along with a half a dozen children’s bicycles.
The event was Mc’d by Christian Frank and sponsored by FOX 17 and Sinas-Dramis Law Firm.
The “Lids for Kids” event promoted and advocated bicycle safety through the fitting and distributing of bicycle helmets to school-aged children.
Superintendent of GRPS Teresa Weatherall Neal, State Rep. Winnie Brinks and Grand Rapids Commissioner Rosslyn Bliss were all in attendance.
Organizers are looking forward to next year and invite other community businesses and organizations to team up.
