BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (June 14, 2014)- Tanger and Byron Township officials have set the date for the groundbreaking of the new Tanger Outlet Mall in Byron Township.
Byron Township Supervisor, Audrey Nevins-Weiss says the groundbreaking will be August 21st, a time has yet to be determined.
The new 80-store outlet mall is to be built at U.S. 131 and 84th street in Byron Township and is expected to create 800-1100 new jobs for the area.
Construction of the mall is set to be completed in 2015.
A representative from Tanger says the company expects 4 million shoppers a year. The current outlet in Howell off of I-96 now sees a little more than 2 million annual shoppers.
