GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 10, 2014) — The Guinness Book of World Records has recognized Gilda’s LaughFest’s attempt to break the world record for the largest number of people wearing sunglasses in the dark for five minutes.
The attempt took place in March at Rosa Parks Circle to kick off the comedy festival.
The official tally turned out to be 1,675 people.
The previous record was set in Chicago in July 2012 with just over 1,600 people.
Other world records LaughFest has broken include the world’s largest rubber chicken toss and the world’s largest gathering of people wearing fake mustaches.
