GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police are investigating a double shooting on the southeast side Friday night.
At 8:55 p.m. Friday, the Grand Rapids Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of Eastern Avenue SE and Oakdale Street SE. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a male suffering from gunshot wounds lying in the intersection.
Shortly thereafter, another male showed up at St. Mary’s Hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police discovered a party going on nearby in the 600 block of Oakdale and found blood in the yard, blood in the driveway and blood in the house there.
Shell casings at the scene indicated more than one weapon was involved in the shootings.
The male who was found in the intersection was transported to the hospital via ambulance. He had been shot three times in the thigh and was listed in critical condition.
The male who showed up at St. Mary’s suffered a gunshot wound in the hand and had been grazed in the head and stomach by bullets. His injuries were not serious.
Police told FOX 17 NEWS that no suspect information was available.
The shootings remain under investigation by Grand Rapids police.
