Grand Haven’s Mike Farley Leaving Football Program

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (May 23, 2014) — After eight seasons as Grand Haven’s head football coach, Mike Farley is moving on.

The school announced Friday that Farley leaving for a coaching and teaching position at South Effingham High School in Georgia. Farley notified his players this morning.

“We are sad to see Mike leave,” Grand Haven principal Tracy Wilson said in a statement Friday. “At the same time, though, we are very excited for this new opportunity for he and his family.”

The Buccaneers were 44-32 under Farley, with one OK Red Conference title. Grand Haven made three straight playoff trips between 2009 and 2011.

He was the AP’s Division 1-2 Coach of the Year in 2009.
