CASS COUNTY, Mich. (May 23, 2014) — A father and son both received electrical shocks while they were installing a TV tower on Thursday night, and unfortunately, the father did not survive.

Sheriff’s deputies in Cass County’s Silver Creek Township responded to the call of a potential electrical accident shortly after 6:30 p.m.  When they arrived, they found Jonathon Curtis doing CPR on his father, Timothy.

They were attempting to install the metal TV tower when it touched overhead power lines, shocking both of them.  The two were knocked unconscious, and when Jonathon awoke, that’s when he started CPR.  A juvenile who was also there called 9-1-1.

When emergency responders arrived, they continued attempts to resuscitate Timothy, but were unsuccessful.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.
