MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (May 19, 2014) — A Laketon Township woman was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing gas from several gas stations across a five-county area, according to Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler.
The 28-year-old woman is accused of stealing gas from stations in Muskegon, Newaygo, Ottawa, Mason and Oceana counties over a period of several weeks, Roesler said.
She is currently in the Muskegon County Jail on two outstanding warrants, and police believe she is the person responsible for the gas thefts. She is being held on a $12,000 bond and will be identified pending formal arraignment.
According to Roesler, a man was also arrested in connection with the gas thefts, but no other information was available because the investigation is ongoing.
