MARSHALL, Mich (May 8, 2014) – The superintendent for Marshall Schools has confirmed to FOX17 school administrators and local police are conducting an investigation into a possible sexting situation involving students.
Below is the statement from Dr. Randall Davis released Thursday:
“I can confirm that we are doing an internal investigation about students using their personal cell phones to send text messages and images of nude females to others. Our investigation is from the perspective of whether this behavior, if verified, is in violation of our district’s Board Policies or State and Federal laws regarding individual rights to be educated without harassment or obstruction. We immediately contacted the Marshall Police Department based on the nature of the rumors and statements we were receiving from students. They, in turn, are doing their own external investigation to determine if any laws have been broken. We are cooperating with law enforcement. Both investigations are ongoing and cannot be commented on any further until completed. Thank you.”
