High-Speed Chase Ends With Crash and Arrests

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich (May 7, 2014) – Two people from the Holland area are facing charges after a short high-speed chase in Allegan County on Tuesday.

A deputy caught a vehicle speeding with a radar that was traveling southbound along 60th Street near 138th Avenue around 6:00 p.m.

The driver behind the wheel refused to stop and crashed into a ditch trying to turn west onto 138th Avenue shortly after the deputy tried to make a traffic stop.

Both the driver and a passenger tried to run off, but were detained at the crash scene by the deputy and arrested.

The deputy also observed the suspects throwing items from the vehicle shortly before the arrests were made.

Both the driver and the passenger are 39-year-old’s from the Holland area.

The driver is facing charges of Operating While Intoxicated, Driving with a Suspended License and Possession of Methamphetamine.

The passenger is facing charges for Possession of Marijuana.

Names of the suspects haven’t been released pending arraignment.
