MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (April 29, 2014) — Ryheim Beasley, 19, was charged Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Muskegon Heights High School basketball player, according to the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office.
Beasley was arraigned on a felony charge of lying to police as part of the investigation into the homicide of 17-year-old Marquis Gresham.
Gresham was killed Wednesday night in the area of Rotterdam Avenue and Fifth Street. According to the prosecutor’s office, Beasley is being held in the Ottawa County Jail so he does not have contact with potential witnesses and suspects in the case.
His bond has been set at $50,000, officials said. He faces up to four years behind bars for the lying to police charge.
