GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (April 26, 2014)- 2,900 Grand Valley State University Students will receive their degrees, graduate degrees and PhD’s Saturday at Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids.
GVSU has two ceremonies today, one that begun at 10 a.m. that has graduates from the Seidman College of Business, College of Community and Public Service, Padnos College of Engineering and Computing, College of Health Professions and Kirkhof College of Nursing. The 3 p.m. ceremony includes the College of Education, Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Lawrence J. Korb, senior fellow at American Progress, is the keynote speaker for the 10 a.m. ceremony, and Naana Jane Sam Opoku-Agyemang, minister for education in Ghana, is the keynote speaker for the afternoon ceremony.
Western Michigan University is also holding their commencement ceremonies on Saturday as well at Miller Auditorium. WMU is hold four separate ceremonies for all of there colleges.
WMU will hand out 2,700 degrees at today’s ceremonies.
