GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A teenager was found guilty Tuesday of opening fire and wounding five people at a Kentwood graduation party last July.
A jury convicted Billie DeShawn McKinney, 18, of three charges — assault with intent to murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felony possession of a firearm.
The Kentwood Police Department estimated there were about 50 people at the party when McKinney and nine others showed up uninvited and allegedly started a fight that led to the shootings.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 29.
