Rash of Business Break-Ins Across Kent County

KENT COUNTY, Mich. – The Kent County Sheriff’s Department is investigating numerous business break-ins and break-in attempts across the county.

FOX 17 News was tipped off Monday by one business owner, who said her Algoma Township salon was broken into and that she wasn’t the only victim.

Monday morning, the Kent County Sheriff’s Department confirmed it was investigating burglaries in Plainfield, Algoma and Gaines Townships.

Other burglaries happened over the weekend in Grandville; however, the sheriff’s department does not know if the cases are connected.

Most of the crimes happened Saturday evening.  The following list of targeted locations was sent by the sheriff’s department:

2355 Belmont Center NE – Styles Salon – Glass broken on front door.

2350 Belmont Center NE – BC Pizza – Tool used to break glass. Cash register stolen.

4324 14 Mile NE – Domino’s Pizza – window smashed.

4633 14 Mile NE – Hair Tailors – break-in through back door.

4320 14 Mile NE – Window Smashed.

3555 68th St SE – Carmelo’s Restaurant – Front Door Smashed.

6748 Kalamazoo Ave – Subway – Door smashed.

A worker at Sports Clips, 4365 Canal SW, told FOX 17 News Monday her store was broken into Sunday morning.

The burglar broke through the glass of the door, then stole a set of keys inside.  Other businesses in the same shopping plaza were also targeted, including a Jimmy Johns, nail salon and a game store.  She also said a nearby yoga center was hit up two weeks ago.
