MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (March 24, 2014)- AS the search continues for one of West Michigan’s Most Wanted, relatives of the teenager he’s accused of killing are speaking out.
21-year-old Isiah Spears is wanted for the January 24, 2013 shooting death of Kentae Jones, 18.
Police say Spears is armed and dangerous. They’re asking people not to approach him, but call to 911.
Family says they never gave up hope in the 14 months that passed since the young father was killed. Saying they knew his killer would be caught.
“He’s in my thoughts all the time, every minute, that’s all I talk about at work,” Kentae’s grandma Shirley Jones said.
She says the day Kentae was killed was the worst day of her life.
He leaves behind a now 2-year-old son Keyshawn, who is growing up without his father.
“Where is your dad?” family asked Keyshawn. “In heaven,” he replied.
Kentae’s mom says she’s been praying the community would speak up about what happened to her son.
It’s through investigative subpoenas that Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson says people began talking about what happened the day Kentae was killed.
For now, family says they’re hopeful Spears will be in custody soon. They say it doesn’t ease the pain of their loss but allows them to share his memory and remember the legacy passed on through his son.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Isiah Spears, police urge you to call 911.
