ROCKFORD, Mich. (March 1st, 2014)- Baseball and Softball players from Hope College, held a “spring training” clinic Saturday for Miracle League players in Rockford.
The clinic was held at the Wolverine Worldwide YMCA in Belmont.
The clinic was designed to help the Miracle league players, improve their hitting, throwing, and fielding.
This event is part of the Miracle League’s “Expanding the Miracle” partnership with the Wolverine YMCA. The program will allow Miracle League players the opportunity to participate in indoor sports at the Wolverine YMCA using the same principles from Miracle League baseball, giving children with mental or physical disabilities the chance to play organized sports using volunteer buddies.
The Expanding the Miracle program will also include holiday celebrations for Miracle League players and their families.
The spring Miracle League season will begin on April 26 at Nate Hurwitz Field and will continue every Saturday (except Memorial Day weekend) through June 7.
