OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich.(February 23, 2014)- Kent County Sheriff Deputies say three people are injured when their car rolled over early Sunday morning.
Deputies say the rollover happened at 12:53 A.M. Sunday on 14 Mile Road west of Lincoln Lake Avenue in Oakfield Township. Officials say the crash happened when the car was traveling westbound then veered off the road causing it to roll over multiple times. Officials say this was the only car involved in the accident, and three passengers were inside the vehicle when crews arrived on scene.
According to deputies, the driver, 21-year-old Connor Thomsen of Greenville, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Deputies say Aeromed transported the front seat passenger, 21-year-old Trevor Vandenberg of Greenville, to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids with serious injuries; he was not wearing his seat belt. Then officials say back seat passenger, 24-year-0ld Chase Wright of Greenville, was first taken to Greenville Hospital, then transported to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids with serious injuries.
Deputies say alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
