Corrections Officer Presents Flag to Sheriff’s Office Following Tour of Duty in Afghanistan

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich (February 13, 2014) – A deputy in Calhoun County is back to work following a tour of duty in Afghanistan with the Military Police.

Upon his return, Deputy Brice Kerschen presented the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office with a flag that was flown over Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Deputy Kerschen served as a 1st Lieutenant with the Military Police during his tour of duty, and has now returned to his full-time position with the Sheriff’s Office in the Corrections Division.

Deputy Kerschen grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Michigan when he was 13.  He started his military career in 2009, and was employed with the Sheriff’s Office in 2012.

Deputy Kerschen and his wife Martina live in Calhoun County.
