DETROIT, Mich. (Feb. 12, 2014) — Kwame Kilpatrick’s total legal bill for his corruption trial will cost taxpayers $813,806, according to FOX 2 in Detroit.
The former Detroit mayor is currently serving a 28-year jail sentence for corruption.
Documents obtained by FOX 2 from Detroit federal court show that the public paid roughly $1.1 million in total legal fees for Kwame and his father, Bernard Kilpatrick.
Bernard’s total legal bill was $352,777, and he is currently serving a 15-month sentence for tax crime.
