GLEN ARBOR, Mich. — A video of massive ice balls washing up along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Glen Arbor is starting to make the rounds on national weather websites.
The video, posted on January 8 by YouTube user headsonfire, has gotten more than 800,000 views in less than two days.
According to AccuWeather.com, the ice balls are formed when water from the lake begins to freeze and is pushed ashore by wave action. The ice gets smoothed out and frozen into a round shape.
