ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. — All non-emergency travel is prohibited in St. Joseph County, and failure to comply could result in a citation.
Sheriff Brad Balk and Emergency Manager Scott Hopkins have declared a snow emergency beginning 9:00 p.m. Sunday and lasting until further notice.
‘Snow Emergency’ means all non-essential travel is prohibited. If emergency travel is required, use extreme caution.
If motorists choose to ignore the emergency, and they come into contact with police [i.e. sliding off the road, being pulled over for traffic violations, etc.] then it could result in being ticketed.
