Ottawa County Central Dispatch at 2pm: Westbound I-196 is now open at the 62 and the 55.
ZEELAND, Mich. – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department shut down part of I-196 in the Holland area Monday because of slide-off accidents.
Westbound I-196 was closed at exit 62 due to several accidents near Zeeland which also involved semi trucks. It is not clear if there are injuries.
A FOX 17 News crew was on the highway at the time of the crashes and experienced near white-out conditions, said reporter Deanna Falzone.
