EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- A statue of President Gerald R. Ford was dedicated in front of the East Grand Rapids Community Center.
The statue is a gift from Sue and Marty Allen commemorating President Ford’s centennial birthday.
The sculpture is a scale model of the bronze statue of President Ford in the rotunda of the United States Capitol building in Washington D.C. created by J. Brett Grill.
Grill also created a seven-foot version of the statue that sits in front of the Ford Museum.
Grill says he tried to represent Ford springing into action and trying to heal the country in the sculpture.
