WYOMING, Mich. — A family of three escaped safely as their home suffered significant damage during a Friday evening fire.
At 7:20 p.m. Friday, the Wyoming Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the 1500 block of 40th Street SW, near Burlingame. The flames appeared to have started in the garage and spread to the home.
A relative told FOX 17 NEWS that a woman and her two children made it out of the house safely. It was originally feared that someone may have been trapped inside, but those reports proved unfounded.
The fire also damaged a vehicle belonging to the family.
Burlingame was closed down for about a block to the east of 40th while firefighters battled the flames.
The fire was knocked down at about 7:50 p.m.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
