WEST MICHIGAN — New Winter Weather Advisories have been issued as the National Weather Service has allowed Ice Storm Warnings in Mid-Michigan to expire. These new advisories will replace the Ice Storm Warnings as the threat transitions to a wintry mix this morning ahead of the cold front. Although the Ice Storm Warnings have expired the threat for hazardous conditions has not decreased at all. Gusty winds, ice and snow are moving back into West Michigan and will allow for deteriorating conditions throughout the morning.
Winter Weather Advisories will be in effect for almost all of West Michigan through noon Sunday when the cold front will move across the state. Behind the front most of the activity will diminish with the exception of light lake-enhanced snow west of US-131.
