GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- After the midnight and early morning Black Friday rush, stores like Toys R Us stay pretty busy with shoppers coming in and out throughout the day searching for their Black Friday bargain.
Vanita Taylor and Tyiesha Triplette are just two of the estimated 140 million shoppers that were out during the annual shopping blitz.
They said it’s usually packed and crazy, with someone usually fighting over a toy. But thankfully this year they said it was a peaceful shopping day at stores across West Michigan.
Others say they like the crowds and being a part of all the festivities.
The National Retail Federation estimates there will be $206 billion spent on holiday sales this holiday season. That’s up 3.9 percent from last year.
Serious shoppers say it’s all about the bargains. Though many brave the cold for hours and days for those deals before stores open, others say no bargain could be that good.
“We come after all the morning crowd, all the crazy people have left,” one afternoon shopper said.
After scoring all their deals and checking off their Christmas lists many shoppers told us they’re ready to head home for some Thanksgiving leftovers.
