ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Deputies in Ottawa County used a Taser on a suspect early Friday morning, who they say led them on a pursuit.
It happened on 84th Avenue near Fillmore Street shortly before 3:00 a.m. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, a 17-year-old male ran a stop sign, and nearly crashed into a deputy. There was a short pursuit as police tried to get the suspect to pull over.
Moments later, the teen suspect crashed into a ditch and ran through a corn field. That’s when a deputy was able to deploy a Taser and take him into custody. The suspect did suffer injuries during the incident, and was taken to the hospital where he’s listed in serious condition.
It is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in this incident.
