ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the July murder of a University of Michigan medical student from West Michigan.

According to Ann Arbor police, those people are awaiting charges connected to the murder of 25-year-old Paul DeWolf.

DeWolf, a Schoolcraft native, was found dead of a gunshot wound July 24 at the Phi Rho Sigma medical fraternity, 220 N. Ingalls St. in Ann Arbor.  A friend found him in the basement of the house after he didn’t show up for an assignment at the veteran’s hospital.

“There does not appear to be any previous affiliation between the suspects and Paul DeWolf nor any connection with the University of Michigan or the U.S. Air Force,” a release from Ann Arbor police said.

DeWolf was a second lieutenant in the Air Force and graduated from Grand Valley State University’s pre-med program in 2010.  He was on track to graduate from Michigan in May.
