GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Heavy smoke and flames were seen pouring from a building in the northwest side of Grand Rapids early Monday morning.
The fire was first reported at around 5:20 a.m. at 961 Bridge Street NW. The building is described as a multi-unit home.
The third story of the building collapsed.
Emergency workers evacuated the building so that everyone got out safe despite the fact the building is apparently a total loss.
“I was asleep when it happened,” said Lydia Ross, a resident. “I lost everything.”
