Woman Dies Following Chain-Reaction Crash

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 91-year-old woman has died following a chain-reaction crash in Grand Rapids.

Police say she was driving a silver Lexus East on Camelot Avenue around 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 20, when she rear-ended a parked Saturn. Both cars ended up hitting the back of an 18 wheel semi truck.

Police say the 91-year-old driver had a medical issue before hitting the vehicles. She was taken to an area hospital where she died.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, and it remains under investigation.

The driver’s name will not be released until family is notified. She was from Boynton Beach, Florida.
