WEST MICHIGAN — Temperatures dropped this morning into the upper 30’s and 40’s across West Michigan Sunday morning making for a chilly start to the day, however a warmer afternoon is on the way. Westerly winds which caused lake effect rain showers to form Saturday will switch to southerly throughout the morning allowing for skies to clear and rain showers to end. Temperatures throughout the afternoon will warm into the low to mid 50’s.
Cooler air moves back in later tonight, allowing for rain showers to develop mainly after midnight. Temperatures will stay into the 40’s overnight as cloud cover and rain showers will allow temperatures to stay more stable. Rain chances stick around as we head into the next work week as temperatures fall into the upper 40’s by mid-week. Rain/snow mix may be possible in areas north of Grand Rapids in the very early morning hours as overnight lows fall into the 30’s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
