KENT County, Mich. — Michigan State University researchers confirm that a new strain of the circovirus has made its way to Michigan.
So far, two dogs are confirmed to have been affected.
FOX 17 spoke with Dr. Laurie Wright, a veterinarian with the Kent County Animal Shelter. She said the symptoms include “vomiting, bloody diarrhea, listless, poor appetite and weight loss.” There are many questions regarding the virus. Wright said it’s important that owners take their dogs to the vet for regular wellness checks and make sure they are caught up on their vaccinations.
