NORTON SHORES, Mich. — A 14-year-old Norton Shores boy is in custody in connection with at least seven break-ins in the area in August and September.
The boy was arrested 3 a.m. Wednesday morning by Muskegon Police after allegedly stealing a car from a Henry Street home in Norton Shores. Police interviewed him and his parents to determine his alleged involvement in the other business and garage break-ins, which span from Aug. 29 to Sept. 26.
During these other break-ins, golf equipment and power tools as well as other minor items like cigarettes, alcohol and soda pop were taken. There was also property destruction in the form of smashed windows and damaged computers at several of the locations. He is also accused of pouring gasoline around a radio station at Grand Valley State University. He is currently housed at the Muskegon County youth home.
