BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — As “Breaking Bad” fans anticipate this Sunday’s series finale, the show’s creator has reportedly already inked a deal for his next project, a police drama set in Battle Creek.

Vince Gilligan has reportedly signed a deal with CBS to create a 13-episode police drama set in and named after the West Michigan city, according to The New York Times.

“Battle Creek” is set for the CBS prime time schedule next fall.  Gilligan reportedly pitched the script to the network 10 years ago but had nowhere near the fame or acclaim that “Breaking Bad” brought him. The show won its first prime time Emmy for “Best Drama” last Sunday, and has had its highest ratings and viewership ever in its final eight-episode run.

No plot details about Gilligan’s new show have been revealed, but the Times estimates the deal to be worth between $35 and $45 million.
